The foundation programmes at IIUM Academy are crafted to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to transition smoothly into undergraduate degree programmes across various faculties (Kulliyyahs) at IIUM. Offered for August and November intake.
Who Can Join?
Open to Malaysian and International students holding IGCSE, GCSE/O-Levels, SPM, or equivalent qualifications. The criteria for acceptance differ according to the qualification of the candidate. There are clear categories (e.g., Bumiputera Malaysian, Non-Bumiputera Malaysian, International, etc.) along with their respective application channels.
Pathway to Undergraduate Degree
On successful completion of the Foundation Programme, students gain direct entry to their chosen Bachelor's degree programmes at IIUM—often with subsidized tuition fees (except for Medicine, Dentistry, Accounting & Law).

What is the age limit to apply for the foundation programme?
Applicants must be between 16 and 20 years old.
Can I apply using my trial exam results?
Yes, you can apply with your trial exam results. However, your final results will be required later.
How many semesters are there in the programme?
The programme consists of a minimum of 3 semesters (1 year) and a maximum of 2 years
When are the intakes?
Intakes are available twice a year: July/August and November.

Does IIUM provide accommodation for students?
Yes, IIUM offers hostel accommodations for students.
Is the IIUM Academy Foundation accredited by IIUM?
Yes, the IIUM Academy Foundation is accredited by IIUM.
What other results are accepted if an IGCSE student has not received their results yet?
Applicants may submit other available academic transcripts or provisional results. Final IGCSE results will be required once available.
Can I apply with my SPM results?
Yes, applications can be made using SPM results. For SPM leavers, It is advised to apply once the SPM result is released and make sure that the minimum requirement is passed.
Is it compulsory to stay on campus?
No, staying on campus is not mandatory. However, students are encouraged to do so for convenience and access to facilities.
